2021-22 Virtual Series
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Virtual Series allows us to connect with teachers and fellow flutists from around the world from the comfort and safety of home. Admission to virtual workshops is limited to Hawai’i Flute Society members. New members are welcome and membership starts at just $2/month for students and $5/month for adults.

Trailblazing flutist, composer, arranger, and producer, Hadar Noiberg, presents an online workshop: “The Self-Sufficient Flutist.”
Cathy Peterson, Assistant Principal/Second Flutist of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra leads an online workshop for flutists of all ages: “Orchestral Excerpts for Beginners.” Please note the later start time.
Ebonee Thomas, Second Flute and Piccolo of The Dallas Opera and Assistant Professor of Flute at the University of Missouri Kansas City Conservatory leads an online Piccolo Fundamentals workshop for flutists of all ages.

Brian Luce, Yamaha Performing Artist and Professor of Flute at the University of Arizona’s Fred Fox School of Music, presents an online workshop for flutists of all ages.
Jennifer Grim, Haynes Artist and Associate Professor at Frost School of Music at the University of Miami will lead a workshop for flutists of all ages.
Nora Lee Garcia, Powell Flutes Artist and Professor of Flute at the University of Central Florida, presents an online workshop on Double Tonguing.
Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and Powell Flutes Artist, Sooyun Kim, presents an online workshop for flutists of all ages about how to create a compelling performance.
Alice Dade, Powell Artist and Associate Professor of Flute at the University of Missouri, will lead an online workshop for flutists of all ages: Practicing Good Habits and Maintaining Your Muse
Paul Edmund-Davies, Principal Flautist of the London Symphony Orchestra for 20 years and master teacher, will teach us about his “Four Pillars of Technique” (Breathing and Phrasing, Finger Work, Articulation and Intervals) in a class titled “How to Warm Up Constructively.”
